A Chinese firm showed interest in entering into a joint venture with Pakistani private sector for introducing solar-powered bikes in the country. A delegation of Chinese businessmen on Saturday visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) and expressed keen interest in developing cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries.

The Chinese delegates highlighted that the battery-powered bikes were not only providing benefit to the people but would also help the government in its efforts to cut oil import bill and stop further environmental degradation.

It was informed that the batteries were being replaced by solar recharge batteries in alternative models of the bikes. Speaking on the occasion, Yassar Sakhi Butt, President ICCI, appreciated Chinese technological advancement in manufacturing  battery-powered bikes as these were promising extremely low-cost environment-friendly transportation.
