SkyBuilt Power Inc. (Arlington, Virginia, U.S.) announced that the U.S. Army is purchasing SkyBuilt portable power stations, which include solar photovoltaic (PV) generation, for use in remote locations in Afghanistan.

The U.S. Army Rapid Equipping Force, in partnership with the Defense Technical Information Center is purchasing SkyCases and SkyPAKs, a foldable crystalline silicon PV generation product.

“SkyBuilt’s wide range of rapidly deployable, renewable energy products – from 10W to megawatt and microgrid compatible systems, are designed to help the military cut fuel, logistics and save lives,” states SkyBuilt President and CEO David Muchow.
