Electric cars are about to get a whole lot tougher — as Quimera is set to unveil what could be “most powerful electric car on earth”. Their new, super fast AEGT01 electric muscle car uses high-power Lithium Polymer EIG battery packs to achieve over 1,000 lb feet of torque and a blazing top speed of 180 mph. The supercar is set to launch Quimera to the forefront of the electric vehicle market when it is unveiled next month at Motorland in Alcaniz, Spain.

The AEGT01 in the teaser video is the first model of the vehicle, and Quimera plans to adjust its design after the car’s debut and presentation at the Frankfort Motor Show. The spectacular racer can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just three seconds thanks to three UQM motors that pump out 700 horsepower.

The AEGT is the first racecar to run completely on electric batteries and engines while providing comparable performance to internal combustion vehicles. Starting in 2012, Quimera will welcome drivers and teams to test drive the AEGT01. The company is already known for innovative electric scooters, electric/solar scooters, and commercial vans.
