FollowEarlier in the year, Logitech released a wireless PC keyboard powered by both direct sunlight and ambient light, like that from a table lamp. Now the tech innovator is about to show some Mac love, by launching a version for users of the popular Apple operating platform.
Logitech says that its new 17 x 6.18 x 0.29-inch (432 x 157 x 7.5 mm) K750 for Mac has the same features and design as the K750 for PC, but with a keyboard layout designed for Mac users. Like its older brother, the strips of photovoltaic cells provide the peripheral with power – even in ambient light – and at full charge, Logitech says that it will continue to support keying action for up to three months in total darkness.
The full-size wireless keyboard links up to Logitech’s Unifying receiver over a 2.4GHz connection, features concave key-cap design and benefits from PVC-free construction. Four of the five available colors are exclusive to Mac owners and, like the PC version, Logitech has created an app that will let users know how much charge is remaining and inform them when more light is needed.
The K750 for Mac keyboard needs Mac OS X 10.4 or later to run, and will be available this month for a suggested retail of US$59.99.
