K-town Media Center integrates sustainability with interactive technology

The Koreatown Performance Media Center is truly an architectural wonder housed within a unique mid-sized residential complex. In line with the display and signage systems in vogue, the site uses solar powered LED panels that can be used for two purposes. The first is to create a new transportation resource and the second is to promote the inclusion of the performance-based media center at the sprawling site.

The urban surface of this clean energy project is enhanced with the use of LED panels which have been designed to interact and respond to the weight of human interaction. These panels have been tuned so that any artist residing within the center can use them as a new medium to display their artworks, without consuming any grid electricity in the process.

The design team has set high hopes for the project as they thin that this new center will encourage a clean drive toward renewable sources of energy such as solar power. Moreover, the integration of interactive technologies with sustainability could also make people think about the environment and the necessary means to stop its degradation.
